Bad Dad is a 64” square quilt made from a layer cake by Moda plus a little. It features fusible web appliqué, cars, trucks, and schoolbuses. It is perfect for a child going off to kindergarten or for those poor little boys who seem to get fewer quilts than the girls! I made it for my grandsons and put trucks on the back. Retail: 8.99

Little Pink Houses: This 54” x 58” quilt features Garden Maze blocks on which two little pink houses and buttercups are resting. A small tulip garden lies between the houses. Looks like someplace you might want to retreat to!

Shabby Screens.  We re-worked our Sun Screens out of Moda’s fabrics and loved the look so much that published at pattern just for it.  Pattern includes all sheets for paper piecing the screen blocks. We machine appliquéd this one and scalloped two of the borders. Quilt finishes at 41” x 53”.

Perky Peonies Table Runner and Quilt: We designed the table runner for our friends at the Road to California. We are going to teach them needle-turn appliqué. We made the table runner from Lakehouse’s Cherry Baby fabric. We liked it so much that we made a little quilt to go with it!! Talk about going over the edge!!

Paper Plates
got its name from the method we used to do the appliqué. The patches are prepared with freezer paper and starch and machined appliquéd onto the backgrounds. Rick rack trims the plates and gives them the look of paper plates. This is a scrap quilt and uses about 22 fabrics in each block. Quilt finishes at 51 1/2" x 63" and retails for $9.49.

Let Me Be was designed with simplicity in mind. It combines a collection of strips and embroidered poetry blocks. The embroidery is worked in red floss with simple lazy daisy, french knots and backstitches. These blocks are surrounded by strips and set with chenille flowers. Country Can-tainers
This quilt features simple pieced blocks set on point between 4 appliqued "cans" of  country wildflowers. It is surrounded by a gingham check border and finished with 1-1/2" wide white cotton rick rack. Finished size is  63" x 73". Retails for 8.99.

Big Bloomers
Twelve simple pieced baskets are surrounded by "big bloomers" and long stemmed buds in opposing corners. The basket handles are appliqued and are a good place to practice your inside and outside curves. Finished size is 63" x 78". Retails for 8.99.

Mabel's Table is an appliqué quilt for beginners featuring bowls of oranges alternated with large hourglass blocks. This quilt has a 1950's kitchen feel to it. The recipe inside is for an old-fashioned fruit salad. Quilt finishes at 54 1/2" x 54 1/2".

Blue Plate Special.
Blue Plate Special is worked in an assortment of 1930's prints and solids and is fat eighth/fat quarter friendly. We show you a fusible web method for quick quilt construction. The "plates" are blanket stitched in black floss. The quilt is finished with a tiny blue and white check that resembles a tablecloth. We give you yardage requirements for 3 different sizes. Coffee Cake is a four block quilt designed for intermediate stitchers. Block patterns include a matching set of dishes with a coffee pot, cup and saucer, sugar bowl and creamer, pieced Dresden plates and a chocolate cake topped with whipped cream and cherries on a cake stand. Lunch Lady Bag
Many of you have requested the pattern for a simple tote we made and had in our booth at Spring 2007 Quilt Market. We had out of town visitors and wanted a nice lunch bag to hold their lunches and a small gift. This bag is what we settled on. We also think it would be a nice bag to hold a quilt kit or any other gift. The pattern is very simple and free to you. (Note: you will need four grommets in addition to your fabrics.)
