Books, Table Runners, Quilt Festival, and Cool Cucumber Soup!

We have exciting news to announce! We have signed on with Kansas City Star to do a book that will come out in August, 2009. I know that is a long time off but we were so excited about this opportunity that we just had to share it with you! We will design new quilts and projects for the book. If you are interested in testing a pattern or two, please let me know via email. We have given the link to their website so you can check out what they do.

For our friends at the Road to California, we have posted a picture of our Perky Peonies tablerunner worked in a different colorway than the one on the pattern jacket so you can see how it looks in another colorway. Mary Silver has made the quilt in an entirely different colorway and we will post the picture of it as soon as the quilting and binding are finished.

I want you all to be cool as a cucumber so the soup recipe this time is for Cool Cucumber and Avocado Soup. Our weather is about 100 degrees so it is kind of hard to get behind a bowl of soup. Thought this one sounded refreshing. And speaking of soup recipes, the winners of our soup recipe contest are Ruth Evans for her Corn Chowder Soup and Tomato Florentine Soup recipes, Martha Burmeister for her Upper Crust Tomato and Chicken Soup recipe and Carolyn Norton for her Vegetable Soup recipe. If you are one of these ladies, please email me your address and we will get your prize sent out.

We are vending at the Long Beach Quilt Festival, July 25-27, 2008 and look forward to seeing many of you there. Be sure to drop by and introduce yourself and, by all means, if you have made one of our quilts, bring it for show and tell!! You will find us in booth 1114 this time. We are in a great location this time and have fabulous neighbors, Cozy Cottage from Brea to name one!
