Old School, Assorted Kits and Tomato Florentine Soup

We welcome all the FabShop Hoppers and hope you will find something you like here at QuiltSoup.

We are happy to tell you that our latest booklet “Old School” has arrived just in time for a quilter’s back-to-school adventure. This little booklet contains a section on half square triangles and quarter square triangles and tells you how to make them accurately. Mystery Quilt LoginIt also gives you the information you need to calculate the size to cut for a given finished block. It contains a section on squares and rectangles. You take all that you have learned and make a variety of blocks based on each lesson. I hope you can see from the photo that the bottom section of the quilt is a sampler and the top section is worked around a single block.

This pattern was also designed as a round robin if you have a few friends you want to make quilts with. Each person makes a quilt and all the participants work on everyone else’s quilt. We had four in our group and it worked out nicely! If you prefer to work alone, you can also use the pattern for a single quilter. We wanted to give you lots of options. We hope this booklet will be a reference you refer to time and again. The quilt is 50” x 61” and the booklet is $16.95.

We still have a few Social Networking and Hip Holidays kits available (I hate to mention it but Xmas is just around the corner)!

Ladybug Hug kits are back in stock but I think this is definitely the end of the line for them.

The recipe this time is for Tomato Florentine Soup and was given to me by Ruth Evans. We usually have garden tomatoes coming out of ears at this time of the year but the deer ate them all. Wonder if they will share a recipe or two?

We are swamped with market preparations and have some really fun new things to share with you about the end of October.

Hope your summer was fantastic. Ours flew by!

Until next time,
